Where do you call Home?
I was born in Nairobi, Kenya, was raised in a small town north of Toronto called, Prince Albert, and now live in Lynchburg, VA. So, "Home" is relative.
How long have you been taking pictures?
I have been taking pictures for over 12 years now. I remember seeing my Dad's pictures from the mission field and the impact they made. I decided I wanted to follow Dad and start shooting for myself. I started out with a cheap point and shoot film camera and graduated to a film slr shortly after. I took one course in photography in college but attribute my knowledge to countless hours of practice and many rolls of film. I have been shooting weddings for 3 years now.
What are a Few of Your Favourite Things?
I love to do most things that involve being in the outdoors. Hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, kayaking, climbing, etc. I also love traveling and engaging in new experiences. Whether that is through eating new/different foods, or seeing new places I enjoy the expereiences that traveling brings.
What do you Draw Your Inspiration From?
I love to look at other peoples work and see how they approach photography. I am constantly looking at other peoples blogs to get inspiration and to be challenged. I also draw a lot of inspiration from my clients and the stories that they tell. I love to be able to communicate those stories through the pictures I take!
